What it costs in practiceA SaaS with 2,000 contacts sending 4 newsletters a month (8,000 emails) can't use the 10,000-email tier, which holds 1,500 contacts. It needs the 15,000 tier: $9 + $16 = $25/month. Rough estimate, before logo removal.A SaaS with 2,000 active users sending around 20,000 emails a month (logins, resets, receipts) is past the free 3,000, so it lands on Pro: $20/month covers up to 50,000. Rough estimate.A SaaS sending 30,000 transactional emails a month fits Essentials 50k: $19.95/month. At 100,000 it moves to $34.95. Rough estimate; newsletters are billed on top.

Before you build
  • Transactional email needs a separate activation: new accounts get an "SMTP account not yet activated" error until support turns it on.
  • Brevo tests each campaign on a sample first. Hard bounces over 2%, unsubscribes over 1% or complaints over 0.2% suspend the campaign and the account, and a repeat can mean permanent deactivation.
  • Paid plans are priced by emails, but each email tier also caps contacts: Starter with 5,000 emails holds only 500 contacts, and you need the 20,000-email tier to go past 2,500.
  • Starter keeps the Brevo logo in your emails unless you pay $12/month extra; it is included from Standard.
  • The free plan sends 300 emails a day, counting transactional and marketing together.
  • The free plan stops at 100 emails a day, not just 3,000 a month. On a launch day with 150 sign-ups, the last login codes don't go out until midnight UTC.
  • If you also receive email through Resend, each received email counts against the same daily and monthly quota.
  • Keep bounces under 4% and spam complaints under 0.08%. Above that, Resend may pause your sending, and the policy allows shutting the account down without warning. Never import a bought or old list.
  • Newsletters are a separate plan priced by contacts ($40/month for 5,000), on top of the transactional plan.
  • A dedicated IP only exists on the Scale plan ($90/month and up), costs $30/month extra and requires more than 3,000 emails a day.
  • There is no free plan anymore. The trial sends 100 emails a day for 60 days; when it ends, every integration using your API keys stops sending until you upgrade.
  • The old free plans were retired in 2025: sending was paused and accounts with more than 100 contacts had them deleted, with no way back after upgrading. A sign of how fast a free tier can go.
  • Essentials keeps only 3 days of activity history and has no dedicated IP; 7 days and an included IP start at Pro, from $89.95/month.
  • Downgrading Marketing Campaigns to the free plan deletes every contact in the account, so export first.
