What Asaas is for
Asaas is a Brazilian billing account: it creates the Pix, boleto or card charge, sends reminders to the customer, renews the subscription each month and can issue the nota fiscal when the charge is paid. Your app asks Asaas to bill someone and Asaas tells you when the money came in. It replaces the gateway, the dunning emails and the invoice tool in one place.
How it plugs into your product
- 1Open the account with your CPF or CNPJ, send a selfie and ID, and wait for the registration review (up to 2 business days).
- 2Build and test against the Asaas sandbox with a separate API key.
- 3From your server, create the customer and the subscription through the API; Asaas generates each month's charge.
- 4Add a webhook so your app unlocks or blocks access when a charge is paid or overdue.
Does it fit your idea?
It fits if
- Your SaaS charges a monthly plan to small Brazilian businesses that prefer to pay by boleto or Pix.
- You want the nota fiscal issued automatically when each charge is paid, without a separate invoicing tool.
- You're starting as an individual (CPF) and want to bill before opening a company.
Look elsewhere if
- Most revenue comes from card and you need it fast: card sales land in 32 days unless you pay to advance them.
- You sell to customers abroad in dollars or euros.
- Your plan costs R$10 or less: R$1.99 per Pix or boleto takes 20% of each payment.

What it costs in practice
A SaaS with 200 subscribers at R$49 paying by Pix, after the first 3 months: 200 × R$1.99 ≈ R$398, plus R$0.49 × 200 ≈ R$98 if you issue the nota fiscal. About R$496 a month, roughly 5% of revenue (estimate). On card it would be 200 × (2.99% of R$49 + R$0.49) ≈ R$391.
